Description: P(l)ain Truth tells the story of a transsexual and her/his transformation from a biological woman into a biological man. Using extreme visual means--infrared photography, experimental graphic design and filmmaking--this book/DVD describes her/his emotions during the different stages of the painful transformation process. A 'symbolic documentary, P(l)ain Truth is based on the real case of a person named Rudi. It reconstructs her past, the emotional stages s/he goes through during the transformation and his future. Though it is a visual record of Rudi's memories, experiences and aspirations, this project approaches its subject matter from a highly symbolic angle, thus protecting her/his privacy and bringing the issue of transsexuality and gender identity onto a more general level.
